Faith Steps

At First Baptist, we aim to provide a holistic approach to being a follower of Christ, at every stage of life. Explore the specific goals within each age group as we seek to know Christ, grow in Christ, and show Christ to others.

The Children’s Faith Journey
God desires a meaningful relationship with each of us. We need to intentionally seek Him, step by step, through a process that deepens our faithfulness and our understanding of Him. The following are “mile markers” on this journey for children in kindergarten through grade 5.

The Student Faith Journey
The process of student discipleship for First Baptist Church is outlined in seven basic principles. Our goal for student ministry is to instill in students in grades 6-12 the seven basic principles that will impact them for eternity.

Knowing Christ

  • Developing Authentic Faith. We want students to trust God with the critical areas of their lives. Proverbs 3:5-6

Growing in Christ

  • Focusing on Spiritual Disciplines. We want students to see as God sees, then do as God says. Romans 12:2
  • Recognizing Ultimate Authority. We want students to submit to the authority God has placed over them. Romans 13:1-2
  • Developing Moral Boundaries. We want students to establish and maintain godly moral boundaries. 1 Thessalonians 4:3-8
  • Making Wise Choices. We want students to make wise choices in every area of their lives. Ephesians 5:15-17

Showing Christ to Others

  • Building Healthy Friendships. We want students to establish healthy friendships and avoid unhealthy ones. Proverbs 13:12
  • Placing Others First. We want students to put the needs of others before their own needs. Philippians 2:3-11
